Diplo and Mark Ronson Announce Disco Side Project ‘Silk City’

Mark Ronson and Diplo have announced their new joint project titled ‘Silk City’, seemingly named after the Philadelphia venue where Diplo got his start as a DJ. The duo will be playing their first live performance at this year’s Governors Ball in New York this June alongside Eminem, Jack White, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Travis Scott.

The DJ/producers first teased that they were working together back in August when Diplo told GQ he and Ronson were at work on a new collaborative disco album – Something that we’re hoping to hear in the not so distant future.

The two have been friendly for a while, with Mark posting a photo on instagram of a Diplo-less DJ booth asking where he was back in July. The Mad Decent label head replied, “i learned my lesson to never hang out with you in ibiza unless i want to live in a deep in the hills where Uber will never go”. So judging by that, we have quite the album on the way.

.@diplo where the fuck are you ?
