Hey Oliver, Now after working on so many successful tracks, what has been your favourite song to produce and work on?
‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’ was a really fun song to produce. I loved how I started that one with no limitations and just wanted to make a fun track that people could dance to. When I play it live I love seeing people go crazy to it.
You’ve collaborated with several artists over the years, such as Knife Party and Chocolate Puma. Is there anyone you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Nile Rodgers is in my opinion a great artist who I’d love to work with one day. His songs all sound amazing. I think a collaboration between us would be really interesting. What you can expect on upcoming collaborations? You’ll just have to wait and see!
How do you usually prepare before a show? Do you have any pre-show rituals?
I like to just chill before my show and have a little fun with the people backstage. Personally, I don’t do anything crazy with my rider.
Do you have a particular Spotify Playlist that you listen to? Which is your favourite?
The Fresh Electronic playlist is great. It gives you a quick listen in to what’s hot off the press and there are always some fresh songs in that list.
What music are you working on at the moment? Should we be expecting an album?
I will be releasing a lot of new music this year. I’ve been experimenting with some more disco sounding and a lot of vocal tracks that I can’t wait to share with all of you. Also, I would love to make an album some times. To build a whole story into a album. Let’s see!
Heading into the world of DJ kit, What is your current setup?
My current setup is the Denon SC5000 Prime media player and the X1800 Prime club mixer.
2017 is looking to be a big year for you, What’s your plan for the year?
I’m already really excited for what’s coming this summer. Of course, I’m playing a lot of festivals throughout the year and next to that I’m planning on consistently releasing a lot of music as both Oliver Heldens and HI-LO.
So you’re playing Creamfields this Summer, how does it differ from other festivals? What can we be expecting from you?
Yes, I can’t wait for this year’s edition! I’ve played Creamfields for the last three years and the crowd was unbelievable every time. I can’t give away too much yet, but expect a great Oliver Heldens show!
