A weekend to kick off the summer. Last weekend we headed down to Creamfields exclusive event, the Steel Yard. With Eric Prydz set to headline the Saturday night, and Sunday include Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Don Diablo, Martin Solveig, Third Party. There’s no way we were going to miss it.
The 20 metre steel structure was home to thousands of EDM fans from across London to party the weekend away. Lines were building at the entrance of the festival as attendees prepare themselves for the dash for the barriers.
Throughout the night attendees were taken on a journey, with each set featuring state of the art lighting, effects and music. As the night went on, the energy built up as fans waited for headliners Axwell Λ Ingrosso to take to the stage.
Don Diablo pulled out some classics during his set including Switch, On my Mind and cutting shapes. Third Party continued the party with new remixes from Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers, plus their own stuff, new and old.
Guests and iconic DJ’s, Faithless took the crowd on a journey with their absolute classics, and a couple newer tracks too. The vibe amongst the crowd was something that you wouldn’t experience anywhere else, you could only experience it with Creamfields. And it was slowly building in the wait for headliners Axwell Λ Ingrosso.
Axwell Λ Ingrosso closed the night with a extraordinary set, the vibe amongst the crowd was unlike no other. They kicked off their set, hands in the air with ‘How do you feel right now’ as the crowd went crazy. The high adrenaline set full of classics, from both Swedish House Mafia and Axwell Λ Ingrosso. Plus all the tracks from their latest EP ‘More Than You Know’. A highlight was when the Sweedish duo played their infamous ‘Don’t you worry child’ as the whole crowd sang it right back at them.
The night was filled with incredible music, lighting and an incredible vibe. On a personal level, it has to be the best ‘festival’ I have had the pleasure of attending, and only builds my excitement for Creamfields even more this summer. With act’s including Martin Garrix, Dillon Francis, Deadmau5 and Marshmello, it’s going to be the biggest weekend of summer.
